Sometimes the hardest part of selling a house is the preparation. Emptying, cleaning, donating, recycling – it’s not easy, and it can be expensive.
This particular property was part of an estate, and it was full of clutter.
Big cardboard boxes, old pillows, empty bottles, towers of newspaper, heaps of clothes, ancient cleaning products, broken furniture… the list went on and on, which only made things harder for the homeowner. In addition to coping with the loss of a family member, they had a huge mess on their hands.
Yes, you can sell your house, even when it looks like this.
The good news is that our team was able to handle the cleanup. The homeowner went through the various piles and drawers, collecting the items and mementos they wanted to hang on to, and we cook care of the rest.
Everything that could be donated, was – the rest was recycled whenever possible. In the end there was no need for the homeowner to throw anything out, worry that things were properly disposed of, or clear out and sweep each of the rooms.
Emptying out a house that needs to be sold can be a major headache. Unless, of course, you’re working with the right team when it comes time to sell.
